Angel of Triumph

Upon successfully getting her newly released single "Reason," onto the UK Music Charts on ITunes, I had the upmost honor and detriment in speaking with the eloquently beautiful, United Kingdom-based singer/songwriter, Gemma Louise Doyle. Gemma takes us on a short, but meaningful conversation where she talks about her new single, hitting the UK music charts, our purpose in life, and her friendship with former Iron Maiden band member, Tony Moore.

Hello Gemma, how are you tonight?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: Fantastic. Thank you! I’m just traveling back from an incredible reaction at my show.

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you on getting your first ever newly released single, “Reason” to hit the charts. How did it feel to see yourself surpassing icons such as Oasis, The Kooks, and Artic Monkeys on the iTunes charts?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: It was quite surreal seeing my name in the UK Music charts on my computer screen on Friday morning. My very first single to be released on to the iTunes, made it into the charts, alongside the likes of Oasis, the Arctic Monkeys and a band who my music has inspiration from: Evanescence. No record label, no management, no professional promotion team helping me, just all of my loving followers and friends supporting me. I felt the countless hours, the commitment of every single minute of every day, never giving up, became worthwhile. My message from this is to always follow your heart, keep going, and know that you are here with a very significant purpose to fulfill.

“Reason” is also being played on multiple international radios, such as the US, London, the UK, Germany, Italy, Australia, and even being received by fans in Japan and all across the world. How does that make you feel?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: It’s a dream come true for me to inspire people across the world. We are all here for a reason, and that’s what I want the whole world to hear.

What inspired the title of the song “Reason,” and what is the meaning behind it?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: The song is based upon my story, of how music saved my life. When I was critically ill in the hospital as a teenager, I started doing what I love: singing. I saw my voice, changed the atmosphere. I received messages from other patients telling me how I uplifted and helped make them feel better. Whenever I recovered, I came home and finally had the confidence to step on stage. There, I witnessed people ‘come alive’ by my performances. That’s when I knew my purpose in life, and committed mine to achieve my dream of being an international music artist, and helping millions of people realize their strength and their purpose.

I read that you were diagnosed with a terminal illness and that the doctors called your parents to say “She would not make it through the night.” Would you like to talk about this or you would rather not?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: Yes, I prefer not to go into details, as I came out of that. I believe that we attract what we focus on our attention on, and so I choose to be positive.

My next question pertains to the bible. In JOB 14:5, it says

“Man’s days are determined; you (God) have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed” (Job 14:15)

That verse means that no human being can tell us where or when we will die. As an example, the doctors only gave you a few hours to live and you made it through. This goes to show that death is not a matter of accident or chance, because the bible makes it clear that our lives are in God’s hands. So, if it’s not our time, God will not let us go. You still have a job and a purpose to fulfill here on this earth.

What are your thoughts on a ‘higher power’?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: I believe that the higher power is within us, every one of us. We are in control of our lives. God, the universe, the higher power, answers our every true belief.

As an entertainer whose sole purpose is to help, uplift, and heal humanity. What do these entire tragic and catastrophic events do to you, and what message would you like to give the people in response to these events?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: They cause me to silence. It’s painful to see what some minds of people are causing to this world. But, this also fires my passion, making me even more determined to help awaken people and make better things happen.

I recall the song “Reason” being co-written between you and your friend, former Iron Maiden member Tony Moore, correct?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: Yes, Tony is a lovely guy, and I love rock music, among many popular genres. It was a blessing writing with him.

Where did you meet him, and how did the two of you become friends?

GEMMA LOUISE DOYLE: Tony and I met via many mutual connections in the music industry, which are based out of both Las Vegas and New York.
